I ask, Destiny: Why Did You Pick Me

“The Whisper of the Unseen“

She stands on the shores of an ocean, toes buried in the sand, the wind bringing with it endless possibilities and rhythmic waves crashing onto shore like something whispering secrets only she can hear. Why me? she questions to herself while staring out into space: “Why have you chosen me for this journey, something that I can’t even begin to imagine right now?“

Destiny does not answer with words. Instead, she shows her answer through actions such as the resilience of trees that bend with storm winds but remain standing firm or through rivers cutting their way through stone without force but with patience and perseverance.

She is that river. She is that tree.

“The Girl Who Refused to Compromise”

Once, there was a girl who was told her dreams were for children, and stability was the only real path to success. Yet something within her flamed an inkling that there must be more out there somewhere.

She worked jobs that weren’t fulfilling but saved and stayed up late reading, learning and creating invisible bridges towards an uncertain future that couldn’t yet touch her. Some called her foolish or unrealistic, but she understood something they didn’t: destiny favours those who refuse to abandon themselves.

The First Lesson: The Bamboo’s Silence

Bamboo grows silently for years in the forest. Its deep-root systems weave a hidden network of strength; then, one day, bamboo shoots up, towering above other trees within weeks.

People would often comment that bamboo grew quickly, but this plant knew better: its growth was always happening even when no one could see it.

She recognised this: she was the bamboo. All her efforts, late nights and sacrifices were the roots from which her growth would eventually bear fruit and one day, it would all pay off when the world saw what had been growing all along.

A Heart That Fell Too Far in Love (And Chosen Itself Regardless)

Love was another battleground. She loved with all her heart, yet sometimes, love required her to settle for less than she deserved or put aside her dreams for someone else’s comfort.

But she had come to realise: a love that requires you to abandon yourself is no real love at all.

Lesson Two – The Lotus in the Mud

The lotus flower blooms beautifully despite its surroundings; instead, it subsumes darkness by becoming part of it. Instead of yearning for more transparent waters, this remarkable creature rises upward, unbroken and more beautiful due to where its journey began.

She was the lotus. Even though past heartbreaks, disappointments, or moments of loneliness–they weren’t her end, but instead served as fertile soil that helped her bloom into something brighter than before. From these trials came new growth that would be even more radiant.

The Dream-Chaser’s Paradox: Faith in the Unseen

At times, the journey seemed endless; she would lie awake at night contemplating whether her optimism about a future that wasn’t quite real yet was unreasonable.

She remembered: she remembered.

  • A caterpillar does not know it will become a butterfly; all they knows is to keep building. In contrast, stars do not question if or when they will shine – they do it!

Destiny had chosen her, as she was the type of woman who persevered even when the path ahead was unclear.

Lesson 3: A Spider’s Unbreakable Web

A spider painstakingly weaves its web, layer by layer. Sometimes, the wind dismantles it; other times, rain washes away parts. But that doesn’t discourage her – she begins again and continues weaving until her efforts prove futile.

She was the spider, weaving together every setback, “no” response and moment of doubt into an intricate tapestry that wouldn’t break. No failures here! They all worked towards building her web of success.

The Miracle of Becoming

At some point, she will realise what has transpired:

  • Her struggles weren’t obstacles; they were opportunities.
  • Her waiting wasn’t wasted time–it was preparation. And the love she thought she lost wasn’t meant to be lost forever–instead, it prepared her heart for something greater.

And destiny will smile upon them all, telling them how beautiful life truly is.

“I chose you because you will always make decisions for yourself.”

Final Lesson of the Phoenix Fire

A phoenix does not fear flames – instead, it rises from them with renewed strength.

She is the phoenix. Her dreams, love and life will rise gloriously and unabated.

Because fate always keeps its promises.

And hers was always meant to be great.

“Dear Destiny, Why Did You Select Me?”

You chose me because I never stopped believing, even when others called my beliefs foolish.
You chose me because I loved deeply, but loved myself more deeply. And most importantly, miracles don’t happen by chance but are earned.

And so I carry on, knowing the best is yet to come.

I am headed there! And I will see it there.
